Are your products Non-GMO Project verified?

While our products are not Non-GMO Project verified, they are innately free of GMOs as our products are Certified Organic, and the use of GMOs is strictly prohibited by Organic certifiers and the USDA National Organic Program. Certified Organic means Non-GMO and More!   

Do your products contain any allergens?

Our dips are made with cashews and therefore contain tree nuts.

What ingredients account for the “natural flavors”?

All of our natural flavors are obtained directly from Certified Organic, Non-GMO plants and are guaranteed Certified Organic (New!), vegan, gluten-free, grain-free, soy free, corn free, sulfite free, lupine free, yeast free and completely MSG (monosodium glutamate) free. 

What is sunflower lecithin?

Sunflower lecithin is rich in choline and other essential fatty acids to support heart health and digestion. Alex first discovered it as a popularly recommended supplement for breastfeeding moms! In our dips, the organic sunflower lecithin used in our proprietary blending process helps create the creamy consistency our fans love.

What is tapioca starch?

Tapioca starch is extracted from the roots of cassava plants. As a result of replacing potatoes with tapioca starch in our new recipes, our dips have an even more lovable, creamy texture and consistency. Additionally, the shift to tapioca starch makes our dips now equally enjoyable straight from the fridge cold, or as part of a recipe while making them acceptable to a wider range of folks within the paleo community.

How much sugar is in a serving of The Honest Stand?

There is no added sugar in any of our dips.

Weren’t there potatoes in the recipe? Why were they removed?

By swapping the potatoes in each recipe with tapioca starch and adding sunflower lecithin – rich in choline and other essential fatty acids to support heart health and digestion – the resulting formula is a jaw-dropping taste, texture and consistency improvement. 

What changes in flavor and texture can I expect from the new recipe?

The new formulation improves upon the taste, texture and consistency our fans already loved. Bringing together real, whole ingredients in our proprietary blending process results in dips that not only taste great but that boast a creamy texture and flavor comparable to dairy-based dips that are so good, everyone can join in the celebration of plant based foods!

What changes to the Nutrition Facts can I expect with the formula change? 

With our new formula change, we have also updated our Nutrition Facts Panel to meet the 2020 Food and Drug Administration guidelines. Therefore, you will see an increase in calories per serving compared to our previous formula because we increased our serving size. Additionally, with the replacement of potatoes, we increased our cashew quantity in all of our formulas to make the product richer and creamier. While delicious and healthy, nuts are naturally higher in fat and therefore our calorie count has increased. However, at 35-40 calories per serving, we are still offering 50-70% less calories than one oz of regular cheese.

Our plant-based dips come in seven flavors: Classic Cheddar, Smoked Cheddar, Mild Nacho, Spicy Nacho, Garlic Parm, Buffalo Blue (NEW!) and Sriracha Ranch (NEW!).

Am I supposed to heat the dips up or eat them cold?

The short answer—either one! Got a minute? Grab your favorite veggies or chips and dip right in from the fridge. Got more time? Use our dips in your favorite go-to comfort food classic recipes - like warm mac ‘n’ cheese - for a healthier yet delicious plant-based take. 

Are the dips shelf-stable? Where should I store them?

You’ll find our dips in the refrigerated section and the products should be stored in your home refrigerator, too.

Where are The Honest Stand products made?

We self-manufacture all our products at our 8,000 square-foot facility just outside Boulder, CO.

Why have you chosen to self-manufacture versus work with a co-packer?

Self-manufacturing allows our team to oversee the entire production process from raw ingredients to finished product. We are also extremely dedicated to job creation in Colorado and to maintaining good manufacturing processes (GMPs). We achieve these goals by manufacturing our own products, giving over a dozen individuals a career in manufacturing, and maintaining direct control in the manufacturing process.

What are your containers made of?

Our containers are 9 oz, PP#5, BPA free, microwaveable plastic containers.

Is your packaging recyclable?

Yes, our containers and lids are completely recyclable.

Is there a way to buy different flavors through your website?

Due to our recyclable / re-usable eco-coolers and emphasis on sustainability, our current minimum order is 5 dips, however, you may purchase any combination of flavors you would like. Shipping is $15 flat for Fedex Priority Overnight to anywhere in the country!

How do you ship your products?

All of our plant-based dips will arrive in a custom eco-cooler, made from environmentally friendly and recyclable materials, with ice packs.

What is The Honest Stand? How did The Honest Stand come to be?

Co-Founders of The Honest Stand, Alexandra Carone and Jeremy Day, met in 2009 while in college. In 2010, Alex was diagnosed with celiac disease and a dairy allergy - a diagnosis that led the friends to pay closer attention to the ingredients in their favorite foods. Alex and Jeremy wanted to do better for themselves and for their community, so with the help of Alex’s mom, they created a totally dairy-free, gluten-free cheese style dip perfect for making mac & cheese. While their dip recipe was created out of necessity, the two are passionate about helping others by offering plant-based versions of a favorite indulgent foods.

The Honest Stand was founded by Alexandra (Alex) Carone and Jeremy Day. Today, the team has expanded to more than 25 individuals and includes both manufacturing and corporate staff.

Following an in-depth look at consumer sentiment around The Honest Stand’s brand identity and the competitive plant-based dip category, opportunity presented itself to create a more dynamic, livelier packaging design and active brand positioning that celebrates the fun that consumers say comes with eating The Honest Stand dips. The revitalized packaging celebrates how plants can help you live your best life, just as they have for Alex and Jeremy! 

Who designed the packaging?

Executed by Studio Lo, the refreshingly-vibrant new packaging celebrates plants and the ingredients that create a life with gusto, featuring artwork by Christopher DeLorenzo. The lineup remains bright in color, with each flavor featuring a different character actively enjoying life and incorporating a special plant leaf in a unique way - - like as a skateboard. The goal of the design is to demonstrate how plants can help you live your best life.

What inspired the two new flavors? 

The Honest Stand is dedicated to innovating the better-for-you dips category, and introducing two dips that highlight emerging flavors does just that. Both Buffalo Blue and Sriracha Ranch are kicked up versions of classic dips that will take your dipping and recipe games to the next level.
